'Journey by Air' Paper Bag Card ...

Happy Stump Day, hampers ... hope you're having a great day!

Today's altered art project is a paper bag card created for the current Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge ... to use Tim Holtz Idea-ology product. I've used a number of different Tim-products in this paper bag card ... for a complete list, check out the Card Recipe at the bottom of the post.

Here's a look at the interior of the card:

And finally, a look at the front and back covers of the card:

If you'd like to give this paper bag card a home, it is available for purchase for $12.99 ... free shipping to any U.S. address. Simply post a comment letting me know you're interested.

I've entered this paper bag card in a number of terrific blog challenges ... check out the complete list, below.

Soooooooooo, yesterday Sheila and I teamed up to run some errands. Because Sheila's crazy fun sister Jill is without wheels, we had to pick up a few things for her, too. We stopped by her house to drop off her necessities and found her swearing at her computer.

"I can't sign in to my (*omitted for Jill's protection*) account!" Jill complained.

"Well, it's looking for your password ... just type in your password." Sheila insisted.

"I can't ... it's not working. Will you try?"

"Sure. What's your password?" Sheila asked.

"MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofyTallahassee."

"Why on earth do you have such a ridiculous password?!?" Sheila asked.

Jill rolled her eyes and said: "Hello! It has to be at least 8 characters long and include at least one capital."

I kid you not ...

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me!

~Hugs,

Black & White & Red All Over ...

Happy Monday ... hope your weekend was long and wonderful!

Today's frightening card was created for Lisa Somerville's Blogger's Challenge. This week, it's a color challenge: black, white, and a splash of red.

I took the literal interpretation of 'a splash of red' by flicking red paint onto the card front using red acrylic paint on a toothbrush ... kinda looks like something that might be found at the scene of a crime, huh? However, no one was injured or kilt in the making of this card project ... it only looks that way! For all of the challenging deets, clicky HERE.

This card also qualifies for a number of fab challenges ... please refer to the bottom of this post for the complete list. And for the down-low on all of the product I used, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, Sheila has the courage, if not always the skills, to tackle any home repair project. For example, in her garage are pieces of a lawnmower she once tried to fix.

This weekend, I got stuck offered to ferry Sheila's insane wacky sister, Jill, around town on her errands. (Now, that's a story for another day!) As I was returning her home, she suggested we swing by Sheila's for a quick visit.

I can't say we were surprised when we found Sheila attacking her vacuum cleaner with a screwdriver:

"I can't get this *%#$!* thing to cooperate," she explained when she saw us.

"Say, why don't you drag it out to the garage and show it what you did to the lawnmower?!?" Jill suggested.

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me ... stay safe!

~Hugs,

It's Wearable ... But Is It Art?

TGiF, crafty stampers!

Today's project was created for Studio L3's Grungy Monday challenge. This week, Linda has challenged us to create 'Wearable Art' using product by Tim Holtz. For all of the challenging deets, clicky HERE ... to check out Tim's blog, products, or his oh-so-inspiring art gallery, clicky THERE.

This piece is very special to me as all of the elements in the Pocket Watch have personal meaning.

I lined the interior with a vintage milk bottle cap, then added a Sprocket Gear, a Game Spinner, a vintage Bingo marker, a vintage key marked "Connecticut," and a w-a-y early Tim-product, Design Originals word/collage art. (Anyone else still hoarding this ancient Tim-product?!?) I used a Swivel Clasp to attach a flattened bottle cap I filled with a vintage telephone image and Glossy Accents, a cool dripping faucet charm, and a vintage key. The whole she-bang was added to Bead Chain and ... finis. So easy, even I could do it!

This project qualifies for a number of fabulous challenges ... for the complete list, refer to the bottom of this post.

Soooooooooo, Sheila's DH has a notoriously bad memory for ... well, everything ... and decided earlier this year to set up an account with our favorite florist so that a loverly bouquet and a heart-felt love note would automatically be delivered for Sheila's birthday, at Christmas, etc. A good plan, no?

Soooooooooo, yesterday was Sheila and her DH's wedding anniversary. Naturally, I stopped over to drop off a card and a l'il somethin'-somethin' for the happy couple and managed to time my arrival to Mr. Sheila's.

As we walked into the house together, he kissed his blushing bride and said offhandedly, "Hey, nice flowers, Honey. Where'd you get 'em?"

Methinks this would have been a good plan if Mr. Sheila had remembered his good plan ...

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me ... have a very crafty weekend!

~Hugs,

Sooooooooo, yesterday afternoon I popped in at Sheila's. When I arrived, Sheila was helping Reid-the-Wild-Child with his 'First Aid and Safety' homework. At least I think it was homework; it might have been Cub Scouting stuff ...

"So, Reid, what would you do if you had a younger sibling who swallowed a house key?" Sheila asked.

After a thoughtful pause, Reid answered, "I'd climb through the window!"

I feel safer already ...

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me!

Happy Monday, crafty stampers ... hope your weekend was long and wonderful!

Today's card was created for Lisa Somerville's Blogger's Challenge. This week, Lisa has challenged us to create a project with a 'seashore' theme. For all of the challenging deets, clicky HERE. I've also incorporated the current challenge at Frosted Designs to use brads and/or eyelets in my card. This card qualifies for several other challenges ... you can see the complete list at the bottom of this post.

A few things: I stamped my 'seashore-themed' image on vellum using solvent ink, then heat set. I stamped Tim's film-strip image on Kraft card stock, cut out the l'il window-thingies with a craft knife, then placed the strip over a section of Tim's tissue tape. So easy, even I could do it!

For the complete list of product used, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, this past Saturday night the DH and I spent the evening at Sheila's. Turned out that Reid-the-Wild-Child lost a tooth and was expecting a visit from You-Know-Who.

After the Wild-Child went to bed:

"C'mon, let's go play Tooth Fairy!" Sheila insisted.

We crept into Reid's room on tip-toe but somehow, we woke the l'il darlin' up. Seeing the money in Sheila's hand, he cried out, "I caught you two!"

We froze and tried to think of an explanation for why we, instead of Ms. T. Fairy, was putting the money under his pillow.

"You put that money back ... the Tooth Fairy left that for me! I'm not surprised that Mommy would do this, but not you, Auntie!" Reid said indignantly.

He's still not speaking to us ...

Thanks so much for spending part of your very busy day with me!

Masking Tape IS Good For Something ...

Happy Monday, crafty stampers ... hope your weekend was long and wonderful!

Today's card project was created for the Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply challenge and for Lisa Somerville's Blogger's Challenge. The Gingersnap Creation challenge called for the use of masking tape; I made my funky flowers out of twisted masking tape. And Lisa's "In Bloom" Bloggers Challenge calls for ... blooms! For all of the challenging Gingersnap Creations deets, clicky HERE ... more info on the Blogger's Challenge can be found HERE.

In case you were wondering: I folded strips of masking tape in half, then twisted them around an over-sized sticky circle. I pounced Distress Ink in Spiced Marmalade and Gathered Twigs over the completed flowers for a bit of color. So easy, even I could do it!

For a complete list of product used in this card, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, this weekend Sheila and I went on a double-dinner-date with our DH's. Of course they're great guys but date-night was pay-back because they spent nearly all day Saturday on the golf course.

Sheila and her DH picked us up and while driving to the restaurant the tees in his pocket fell out.

"Umm, Honey, what are those things that just fell out of your pocket?" Sheila asked.

"Oh, those are tees. I put my balls on them when I'm driving."

"Oh, well. Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer."

Give it a minute ...

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me!

Be My Valentine ... A 15 Minute Project

Happy Stump Day, hampers!

Today's CAS card was created for the Inspiration Journal blog challenge ... to put a heart on it. So I did! I {heart} shopping at Inspiration Emporium so the chance to win a $50.00 Emporium Certificate was too good to miss ... especially with all the new Tim Holtz goodness arriving!

I was also inspired to create this card for CASual-Friday's Clean and Simple "Movie" challenge. My movie inspiration is the 'love-ly' film "Valentine's Day." Didn't see that coming, didcha?!?

For the short list of product I used in creating this card, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, yesterday Sheila asked me to come over to take a photo of her and her DH for their wedding anniversary.

I set up my tripod and camera in front of the happy couple and noticed that Sheila looked stiff and way too "posed."

"Why don't you lightly drape your arm around Ken's shoulder?" I suggested.

"Deb, if you want Sheila to look natural, why not have her put her hand in my pocket and on my wallet?"

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me!

Happy Monday crafty stampers ... hope you had a 'super' weekend!

Today's altered project was created for Artistic Outpost's "Shades of Red" blog challenge, using the "Typography" stamp set. I didn't use a LOT of red, but I think the red really pops against all the neutrals.

Here's a look-see at the interior pages of the card:

I used three vintage language vocabulary cards here, in French and German, tucking them under the gusset flap. An old library card pocket was covered in patterned paper and holds a distressed shipping tag.

Here's a look at the front and back covers:

And finally, the inserts:

If you'd like to give this paper bag card a home, it is available for purchase for $9.99 ... with free shipping to any U.S. address. Simply post a comment letting me know you're interested and I'll contact you.

I'm also entering this paper bag card into Lisa Somerville's "Blogger's Challenge." This weeks challenge is to "Alter It."

For the complete list of product used here, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Soooooo, Sheila might not like that I told you, (ooops!), but she's a terrible nail-biter. Her DH teases her mercilessly about it and, of course, it only causes her more stress ... and more biting.

While we were out shopping this weekend, we came upon a great deal on press-on nails. Sheila scooped up several boxes at a great price.

When we got back to her house, her DH spotted the pile of press-on nails:

"What's all this?" Ken asked.

"Oh, well, this is my latest solution to my nail-biting situation."

"Great idea, Honey ... you can eat 'em straight out of the box!"

Thanks so much for spending part of your very busy day with me!

Gears to You ... a 15 Minute Project

It's the return of the Dreaded 15 Minute Man Card!

Today's card project was created using manly elements, a bit of distressing, and lots of Tim Holtz goodness!

I die-cut the gears from scrap chipboard and added color using Adirondack Dabbers in Juniper, Silver, Gold, and Copper. A few stickers, some sprockets, a game spinner, a typewriter key word and finis ... easy-peasy and ready to serve in just 15 Minutes!

For the complete list of product info, check out the Card Recipe, below.

Sooooooooo, Reid-the-Wild-Child (remember him!?!) called me yesterday ... because he does that ... and had a question:

"Auntie, I was at Church on Sunday and in Father Paul's sermon he said 'Without Jesus we are but dust ...'.

"Umm, okay?"

"Well, here's my question: what is butt dust?"

Hey! I have a question ... why do I always get these questions?!?

Thanks so much for spending part of your busy day with me ... have a very crafty weekend!
