Happy Monday, crafty stampers ... hope your weekend was long and fabulous!

For my simple card, I used stamps from Ippity's "Simply Home" stamp set:

To add some dimension to my card, I stamped my cute l'il cows twice, cut out one set, and popped 'em up over the original stamped images. So easy, even I could do it!

Sooooooooo, this weekend Sheila invited us over for her (in)famous "Eggs, Eggs, and More Eggs," brunch.

Sheila was cooking when we arrived, so I mosied on into her kitchen. I was standing around, trying to look cute appear useful whilst actually doin' nothing, when her DH appeared and started chatterin' like a crazed magpie:

"Careful, careful! You're cooking too many at once. Too many! Scramble them! Now! And we need more butter ... they're going to stick! Careful, Sheila! Now scramble them again. Hurry up! Are you crazy? Don't forget to salt them. You know you always forget to salt them. Use the salt. Use the salt! The SALT!"

As my jaw went slack and my eyes bugged out, I discovered I was speechless. As for Sheila, first she turned bright red ... and then smoke started pourin' outta her ears ... and then she got right in her DH's face and yelled, "Just what the hell is wrong with you?!?"

Her DH calmly replied, "Oh, nothin', I just wanted to show you what it feels like when I'm driving."

A Card Full of Tree Owls ...

Happy Thursday, Crafty Stampers!

Today's card project was created for the current Digi Kitty Challenge. This challenge is a "progressive" challenge: as long as you keep playing, you keep receive free digital stamps. What's not to like about that deal?!?

I created my challenge entry using the cute l'il owl image from their free "Whooooo's the Sweetest" digital stamp set:


I printed the owls out on card stock, colored them with markers and stamped my wood grain background stamp on Kraft card stock.

To create the wood grain effect on the inside of the card, I die-cut a hole in the card front, then pushed the cut-out through to the back of the card and adhered. I popped the owls inside the tree, added some die-cut leaves, a card stock rick-rack "ribbon," and rubber stamped my sentiment. So easy, even I could do it!

So, yesterday Sheila and I met up with her certifiably insane crazy sister, Jill, for an early dinner at the newest, coolest, see-and-be-seen-ist restaurant in West Palm.

When the waitress finally deigned appeared to take our orders, Jill pointed to the menu and told her, "I'll have the 24."

"Ummm, Jill," Sheila whispered, "that's the price, not the meal number."

"Oh, okay," she said. "Then give me the 12."

Thinkin' PINK ... In a Pink "Living Room"

Today's way over-the-top card project was created for the Caardvark's "Think Pink" blog challenge. Hey, if it's pink you want, it's pink you'll get, LOL!

The card was created on a Bazzill card stock base, using designer papers from Deja Views and Making Memories.

I stamped my chairs with an antique "Hooked On Stamps" stamp using Distress Ink, die-cut a scallop-edged "rug," mounted an original vintage (1920) photograph under a slide mount, created a "mirror" using a chipboard die-cut and tin foil, stamped my sentiment, and punched out two kitty images. Hey, what's a living room without two kitties?!?


The photos below show how the card is folded up for mailing:

The chairs and the kitties are mounted to the card stock "floor" with paper hinges. Simply flip the dimensional objects forward:

And fold everything up in a tidy square!

This card is so a bit time consuming to make but so much fun ... and people (especially kids!), really seem to enjoy receiving a "room" card.
