15 Minute Project ... and a Blog Challenge Entry. And Spring is On it's Way to a Northern Tier State Near You!

Today's card was created for Allison's "Suggestive Sunday" blog challenge ... Allison's theme this week is 'trees.' And I ask you, what tree is more beautiful, peaceful, and graceful than a palm?!? Okay, a willow tree, but why not just humor me, okeedokee?!?

This 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" side-folded card was created on Bazzill card stock; I used some kewl palm tree patterned paper from an ancient Arctic Frog 6" x 6" paper pad.

I stamped my image (from Diva Impressions), on Xerox 110# card stock with Palette Hybrid ink, cut out with decorative edge scissors and matted with Kraft card stock and a slightly larger rectangle of Xerox 110#.

I finished by adding some antique copper photo turns, brads, and two antique copper brads. Tip: I always clip the prongs off of these ginormous brads as they tend to slip around like crazy ... instead, just glue 'em in place.

In the interest of time (mine), I'll spare ya all the "Ingredients." If you have a question about something I've used here, please just ask.

So today, as they are want to do, 18.3 million robins landed en masse on our land on their annual trek North. They must really love something about our place* as this happens semi-annually ... and let me tell you, it's QUITE a sight (and sound)!

Because we live on a migratory path, we see flocks of all kinds of amazing and beautiful birds year-round as they whiz up and down the eastern seaboard. But seeing the robins today signals that they are on their way back home to you! Maybe not YOU you, but someone kinda sorta like you who lives in a Northern Tier state.

Anyway, these harbingers of spring should be arriving in your (maybe not your backyard, but in someone kinda sorta like you's backyard), in about 18 days**. Hey, it's quite a hike from w-a-y down here to w-a-y up there ... whaddya think, they fly?!?

Finally, the answer to the question that everyone in blogger-dom is asking me and everyone else: Yes, my spell-checker doesn't work either ... (as in "Yes, We Have No Banana's ... ")

Thanks for spending part of your very busy day with me!

~Hugs, Deb

*we're on their Route I-95 ... it's just nature doing what comes naturally ... I'm sure I don't have better lawn grubs than the folks two miles down the road ...

**yes, I DO time this crap

OmiGawd this is STUNNING. Okay, this is my favorite so far. I would buy this at some pricey card store in a HEARTBEAT.

I also really love, and am inspired by, the way you stage photos.

Is there ANYTHING you can't do??!

Love this card! It's very striking. I want to make something for Suggestive Sunday too, I've missed the last couple weeks doing 80 million DT cards.

I had to comment b/c of your robin story. My parents are SUCH birders, I mean, I am definitely an animal lover and interested in nature but they are reeeeally into it. They would love to be at your house with all those robins!!

Hi Flossie!! So nice to see you! Hope all is well with you and yours down there in the "Fort."

Hi Kalissa: Thanks for visiting; and thanks for all those really nice thangs you said, too! Wowsa! Now, to answer your question, well, where would you like me to start? Or should I just go alphabetically?

Malieta, Malieta, Malieta, what are we gonna do with you? Should you be up and just roamin' around the Kingdom of Blog like this?!?

Hi Jennifer: Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting! Okay, who the heck are you designing for that you're makin' that many cards?!? Name names. As for your 'rents: send 'em down, I'd love to go birding with them. Oh. And when I say "go birding," I mean "come sit by the pool, here's your frosty, tropical blender drink and oh, by the way, look up."
