There's still time to give a cute Valentine's Day gift to someone you love!
Today's 15 Minute Project requires: 15 minutes, scraps of pretty double-sided card stock, and something to embellish! I'm using some decorative No. 2 pencils, but you can also use Hershey's candy Stix, a skinny tube of lipstick, an art marker, pens, or any other cylindrical object you have handy.
And good news for all you non-stampers out there: No Stamping! Yes, I know you're out there ... don't make me start naming names!
Here's how: fold your double-sided card stock in half and, using a pencil, draw half of a heart along side the fold, then cut out. Remember doing this as a second-grader?!? Same thing ...
You can also cut out your hearts using your heart-shaped Nestabilities or your heart-shaped Marvy Giga punches.
To make your hearts more interesting and to give them some dimension, run your cut-out heart through your paper crimper, or place in an embossing folder and run through your die-cut machine. If you look closely at my photo (click on it for a better view), you can see that I've run one heart through the 'Bug' using the "Heart Block" embossing folder, one using the new "Floral Fantasy" embossing folder, a couple through my paper crimper, and one I've left plain.
Tip: You can run your hearts through your machine or paper crimper either folder together or open; you'll achieve a different look either way. Try both!
And you needn't stop there: you can embellish your hearts with buttons, ribbons, Stickles, Liquid Pearls, or glitter. You can stamp, wet emboss, paper piece, and color 'em in ... paint 'em with acrylic's ... adhere some old lace (or new paper lace) behind the hearts ... really, the sky's the limit here!
To finish, simple use your craft knife to cut two parallel slits on the back side of your hearts ... about halfway down the center fold. Lightly push your paper 'strap' forward, and slid your gift-thingie under and through. Voila!
Could a last-minute project get any easier? I think not, Martha Stewart ...
