Today's project was created using mistakes, misstamps, and scraps of other projects gone wrong.
The white debossed mat you see is the reverse side of a mistake. I had stamped a sentiment directly onto my bright pink designer paper and then had the not-so-bright idea to emboss it using the new 'Swiss Dots' embossing folder. Big mistake! Rather than throw it away, I flipped it over and used the debossed side. If I hadn't told you that this card front was the result of a mistake, you prolly wouldn't have guessed.
The faux ribbon was the result of a major stamping mess ... I salvaged what I could here by trimming the mess into a scalloped-edge paper ribbon.
I can't even begin to coherently explain what I was trying to accomplish with the stamped sentiment ... but I was able to save the image by punching it out using a word window punch.
So, the moral of the story is don't give up on your desire to create ... you may not get exactly what you wanted, but you just might find, that you'll get what you need! Hey, Mick, thanks!
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit my blog today!

Love the card, but then I love all your cards!
You are so right Deb, no one would have known this card was created using salvaged materials. The card came out beautiful. I have screwed up on stamping inside sentiments especially the longer ones so I always stamp iniside first now in case I mess up I can flip it inside out and get another shot at it :)
Deb, what great advice!!! And the card is too cute. You'd NEVER know about all the mistakes!!! But then the artist is ALWAYS the most critical critic of his own work. (Or at least I am).
What a super-cute "failure"...I can't wait for my "Swiss Dots"!
Your card is beautiful Deb! You turned a couple of "mistakes" into a beautiful card. I love the Swiss Dots embossing folder. Everyone is sold out right now, I'm going to wait until the excitement wears off and purchase me some of the new folders.
malieta:)

I would have never guessed! It's fabulous!
