This 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" side-folded card was created for Sharon's "Pretties" blog challenge ... and for a "Verve Visual" Sketch Challenge ... and yes, it's a 15 Minute Project, too!
For this card challenge, I used some really different embellishments, specifically two paint sample cards, and my BFF's new business card! Wasn't it Isn't it cute?!? I don't know if these items helped me in my quest for a "pretty" card but I think it's kinda cute ...
I tried out a new card stock for the base of this card and I was pleasantly surprised. This is 'Prism' card stock and I can definitely see myself purchasing more!**
I used Versamark watermark ink to stamp the grasshopper image on my background and this card stock took the ink beautifully. I really hope you can see the grasshopper image; it was difficult to photograph this bright card and show the deeper-toned Versamark images I've stamped on the card.
My central image was created using two offset paint sample cards and two silk flowers. I used an ordinary brad for the flower center. I didn't have a matching piece of ribbon (what else is new), so I colored some white satin ribbon with a Copic (E93) marker; looks like a pretty good match, too.
The paint sample cards and the flowers are mounted using dimensionals ... I just love seeing lots of shadows on cards! (And, if you read my blog, you already know that shadows are one of my very favorite things ... and you just can't go buy a good shadow, ya know?!?!)
Next, I cut up my BFF's brand-spankin' new business card! In fact, as soon as I saw her kewl new business card, I knew I was gonna be using it in a project ... and soon! Good thing she sent me plenty, huh?!? Oh, dear BFF: I think I'll be cutting up needin' some more of your kewl business cards ... ya know, to hand out to people.
The tabs on the upper left hand corner were created with scraps of my BFF's business card and my word window punch. I attached a set of tiny faux rhinestones on the end of each and also used three of these cute little sparklies on the text portion of her business card.
Finally, I used two tiny rub-on brackets to accent the word.
